Version history lets you name important lesson states, preview older versions, and restore a lesson after an unwanted change. It is separate from the editor’s continuous saving.

Open a lesson and select the History clock in the editor toolbar. The panel shows:

The five most recent Automatic versions appear first. Select View all versions to expand the list.

When the current lesson differs from the latest version:

If nothing has changed since the latest version, Mindsmith does not create a duplicate snapshot. The lesson’s More options menu can instead open Name Current Version, which names or renames the current saved state.

Create named versions before a substantial rewrite, translation update, or other milestone you may want to revisit.

Select Preview beside a version to open that exact lesson state without changing the current lesson. Version previews include the content and settings stored with that snapshot.

Mindsmith first saves the current lesson as a "Before restore" safety version, then replaces the working lesson with the selected state. You can therefore return to the pre-restore state if needed.

Open the menu beside a version and select Remove. Removing a historical version does not delete the lesson itself.

Mindsmith saves versions around important actions such as publishing, restoring, using the Mindsmith Agent, and moving from a storyboard into a generated lesson. Routine automatic snapshots appear under Automatic; other event-based snapshots appear under Named Versions with their type and attribution.
