Trash & Recovery

Moving content to trash, recovering deleted lessons and courses, permanently deleting content

When you delete a lesson or course, it is not immediately lost forever. Instead, it moves to your Trash. This acts as a safety net, allowing you to recover accidentally deleted content or permanently remove items you no longer need.

Accessing Your Trash

You can view all of your deleted content in the Trash section of your workspace. Each trashed item displays its title and the name of the project it was originally deleted from. If an item did not have a title, it will appear as "Untitled Lesson" or "Untitled Course".

Recovering Content

Restoring a lesson or course will move it out of the Trash and place it back into its original project folder.

Restoring Individual Items

  1. Locate the lesson or course you want to recover in your Trash.

  2. Click on the three-dot menu icon in the bottom right corner of the item's card.

  3. Select Restore from the dropdown menu.

  4. A notification will appear confirming the restore was successful. You can click the View link in this notification to jump directly to your recovered content.

Restoring Multiple Items

If you need to recover several lessons or courses at once, you can use bulk selection.

  1. Hover your cursor over a lesson or course card.

  2. Click the checkbox that appears in the top right corner of the card.

  3. Check the boxes for any additional items you want to recover.

  4. Once you have made your selections, click the Restore button in your bulk actions menu.

Permanently Deleting Content

Permanent deletion completely removes the lesson or course from Mindsmith. This action cannot be undone, so ensure you no longer need the content before proceeding.

Deleting Individual Items

  1. Find the lesson or course in your Trash.

  2. Click the three-dot menu icon in the bottom right corner of the card.

  3. Select Delete from the dropdown menu.

  4. A confirmation dialog will appear. Click the red Delete button to permanently erase the item.

Deleting Multiple Items

You can clear out multiple unneeded items simultaneously to save time.

  1. Hover over a card and click the checkbox in the top right corner.

  2. Select the checkboxes for all the items you wish to permanently delete.

  3. Click the Delete button in your bulk actions menu.

  4. Confirm your choice in the popup dialog by clicking Delete.
