Enabling a certificate
Open the lesson or course editor.
Select Settings in the top toolbar.
Open Certificate.
Turn on Include Certificate.
Certificates are unavailable on the Free plan, in Static SCORM or web exports, and while authoring through an integrated session that handles certification separately.
Certificate design
Once certificates are on, use the Certificate Design section to choose how they look:
Template
Default uses Mindsmith's built-in layout, with your logo and your organization's name as the issuer.
External lets you upload your own finished certificate artwork. Mindsmith adds the learner's details and the verification details in a fixed footer, so leave room at the bottom of your design.
Verification: when this is on, the certificate includes a verification link and QR code.
Use the Preview to see where the learner's details will appear before you share the content.
Deciding when a learner earns it
Learners earn a certificate when they pass and meet the completion rules in Settings → Grading. Check these settings before you share the content:
Passing: set the Minimum score learners need, and choose what the score is calculated from (Score from): questions answered, or questions and content viewed.
Assessments: each assessment can have its own passing score. Turn on Required to pass lesson to make learners pass that assessment, or Retry until passed to keep them on it until they pass. Learners must pass every assessment that uses either setting. If no assessment is marked required, the last assessment with a passing score on the learner's path decides.
Completion Criteria: choose what learners must do to complete the lesson.
Require Interactives: when this is on, learners must interact with every interactive tile in the lesson, such as flashcards, accordions, and hot buttons.
Learner download
When a learner passes and meets the completion criteria, the completion screen shows Your certificate is ready. The learner selects Download, enters their name, and downloads the PDF. If Mindsmith already knows the learner's name, the field is filled in for them.
The certificate shows the learner's name and the lesson or course title. When verification is on, it also shows the verification link and QR code.
Learners can download a certificate they've earned again from the lesson or course options menu.
Downloading certificates as an author
Authors can download any eligible learner's certificate from the export menu in that learner's analytics detail. The learner's detail page in your learner directory also shows how many certificates they've earned and the date of the most recent one.
