The Mindsmith learner experience is designed to be intuitive, engaging, and accessible across all devices. Whether your learners are taking a quick micro-learning course on their phones or a comprehensive compliance training on desktop, they will have a seamless experience.
Try it yourself in the interactive lesson below:
Navigating Lessons
Learners can progress through your content smoothly using several navigation methods, depending on their device. If you have enabled restricted navigation in your lesson settings, learners will be required to complete all interactive tiles on a page before moving forward.
Desktop Navigation: Learners can use the "Back" and "Continue" buttons floating at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, scrolling past the bottom of a page will automatically smoothly transition them to the next page.
Mobile Navigation: On mobile devices, learners can swipe horizontally to move between pages or use the bottom navigation buttons.
Narration Controls: If your lesson includes AI voice narration, audio controls will appear at the bottom of the screen. Learners can play, pause, and adjust the reading speed to fit their preference.
Using the Learner Sidebar
The learner sidebar acts as the central hub for your learners. On desktop, it is accessible on the left side of the screen. On mobile, learners can open it by tapping the menu icon in the top-left corner.
From the sidebar, learners can easily manage their experience:
Track Progress: View a live percentage of completion and see an outline of all lesson pages.
Switch Languages: If you have enabled translation, learners can use the globe icon to switch the lesson into their preferred language.
Restart or Exit: Learners can quickly restart the lesson from the beginning or use the exit button to safely return to their Learning Management System (LMS) or homepage.
Clicking the ellipsis icon (...) at the top of the sidebar opens an additional menu. From here, learners can report a bug, manually resend a SCORM completion event to your LMS, or download a certificate if available.
Progress Tracking and Quizzes
A progress bar stays pinned to the top of the screen to give learners a constant visual indicator of how far along they are.
If your lesson contains graded question tiles, learners will see a Quiz Results dialog after completing an assessment section. This dialog provides immediate feedback on their performance. It displays their current percentage score, how many questions they answered correctly, and the minimum score required to pass. If they fail, they will have the option to retry the quiz section.
Completion and Certificates
When a learner reaches the end of a lesson or course, a final completion dialog appears. This screen provides a helpful summary of their entire learning experience.
The completion dialog outlines:
Pass/Fail Status: A clear visual indicator of whether they met the passing requirements.
Final Score: A progress arc showing their final grade and how many assessments they completed correctly.
Completion Criteria: A reminder of what was required (e.g., viewing every page and answering all assessments).
If the learner has passed and you have enabled certificates in your settings, a Download Certificate button will appear. Clicking this prompts the learner to enter their name and email address to instantly download their personalized PDF certificate.
Note: Certificates cannot be downloaded while viewing the lesson in Authoring Preview mode. They are only available in live, published lessons.
