Use the Mindsmith Agent when you want to turn a brief and source material into a planned, editable lesson. The creation flow keeps planning separate from page generation so you can review the structure before the Agent builds the lesson.

From the dashboard, select Create, then Lesson. The creation screen can also offer Course, Conversation, and Video tabs when those content types are enabled for your workspace.

To build without the Agent, select Start blank. To generate a lesson with the Agent, enter instructions in the main prompt and select Let's go.

Your first message should explain the learning outcome, audience, scope, and any requirements that must appear in the lesson. For example:

Create a 15-minute lesson for new retail supervisors on documenting safety incidents. Teach the reporting sequence, include two realistic decisions, and end with a short assessment.

You can add explicit learning objectives from the + menu. Objectives entered here are carried into the lesson plan and can be connected to storyboard pages and assessment content.

Use the Language option when you want the original lesson created in a language other than your current default.

Open the + menu to add context before sending your request. Depending on the features available to your workspace, you can:

You can attach multiple files and remove any that are not relevant. Document uploads are limited to 200 MB, images to 30 MB, and videos to 3 GB per file.

Files used as source material do not automatically determine the shape of the lesson. State what the Agent should take from them, what it should omit, and whether you want a summary, conversion, adaptation, or new lesson grounded in the material.

Select a lesson template when you want the new lesson to follow an existing structure and visual pattern. The selected template appears with your request and is duplicated for the new lesson before the Agent begins adapting it.

You can also select a built-in or custom skill from the prompt area. Skills give the Agent a particular workflow or set of authoring instructions, such as converting source material, creating microlearning, preserving wording, or checking accessibility.

Templates and skills serve different purposes: a template supplies existing content and layout to adapt, while a skill supplies instructions for how the Agent should work.

After you select Let's go, Mindsmith creates the lesson and opens the planning conversation. The Agent reviews your brief and attached resources, then asks focused questions when it needs information such as learner context, desired depth, or assessment approach.

Answer the questions in the conversation panel. You can also continue in your own words or tell the Agent to use its judgment when you do not have a preference.

When there is enough context, the Agent creates a storyboard containing:

The Agent stops after creating the storyboard so you can review it.

Check the lesson sequence before building pages. Ask the Agent to add, remove, combine, reorder, or deepen storyboard pages, and revise any objective that does not match the intended outcome.

When the plan is ready, tell the Agent to proceed or select Build Lesson. The Agent generates the lesson pages and takes you to the editor, where every page and tile remains editable.

Use Create → Import from the dashboard when you want a direct native import rather than an Agent-led lesson plan. The import picker accepts PDF, Word, PowerPoint, text, and supported SCORM packages. Standard documents become a lesson directly; SCORM imports follow the format-specific conversion flow.

After generation, use the lesson editor to revise pages, add or reorder tiles, change the theme and settings, preview the learner experience, and publish. The Mindsmith Agent remains available in the bottom bar for follow-up edits.
