Adding Images to Your Lesson

Adding visuals to your lesson keeps your learners engaged and helps explain complex topics. In Mindsmith, you can easily add visuals to an image tile by uploading your own files, searching stock libraries, or generating them from scratch using AI.

When you add or edit an image tile, the image selection menu will open. From the dropdown menu at the top of this panel, you can choose between Generate, Search, Upload, and File.

Uploading Your Own Images

If you have specific graphics, company logos, or photos, you can upload them directly into your lesson. Select Upload from the image menu dropdown.

  1. Drag and drop your image file directly into the upload area.

  2. Alternatively, click the Upload file button to browse your computer for the image.

Tip: This is the best option when you need to use proprietary diagrams, screenshots, or specific product photos that align exactly with your training material.

Searching Stock Photos and GIFs

You can search thousands of high-quality images and GIFs without leaving Mindsmith. Select Search from the image menu dropdown.

  1. Click the tabs at the top of the menu to choose your source: Unsplash (high-quality stock photos), Web (general internet images), or Giphy (animated GIFs).

  2. Type keywords into the search bar to find relevant visuals.

  3. Click on the thumbnail you want to use to add it to your image tile.

If you scroll to the bottom of the results, you can click Load more to see additional options. When searching the Web, ensure you have the appropriate rights and licensing to use the image commercially.

Generating AI Images

Mindsmith allows you to create custom visuals using AI image generation. Select Generate from the image menu dropdown.

  1. Type a detailed description into the text box at the top of the menu.

  2. Click the Style dropdown to choose an artistic style, like a 3D render, watercolor, or photorealistic photo.

  3. Click the Aspect Ratio dropdown to select the shape of your image, such as square, landscape, or portrait.

  4. Select your preferred model from the AI Image Provider dropdown.

  5. Click the Generate button.

Once the image finishes loading, click the Add Image button below the preview to insert it into your image tile.

Note: Generating images consumes AI credits. Free and Professional plan users have a monthly credit limit, while Business plan users have unlimited credits.

Reusing Images from Documents

If you generated your lesson using a source document, Mindsmith can automatically extract the images from that file for you to use. Select File from the image menu dropdown.

  1. Browse the grid of images extracted directly from your source document.

  2. Click on any image to instantly add it to your image tile.

If no images appear in this menu, it means the document used to generate the lesson did not contain any extractable visuals.

Editing Images with AI

You can edit any image in your lesson by describing the change you want to the Mindsmith Agent directly. The agent supports Gemini Flash (also known as Nano Banana), which is particularly good at maintaining visual consistency when editing images.
